2018 TAURANGA SOUTHERN PIPELINE HDD CROSSING

Future-Proof Solutions was proud to participate in the Tauranga Southern Pipeline project, a large-scale undertaking dedicated to major new sewerage infrastructure in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty region. As part of the $99M project, horizontal directional drilling was utilised to install a 36” steel liner and 800mm HDPE internal transmission pipeline beneath Tauranga Harbour. Challenging ground conditions were overcome to install the 1550m crossing at depths of 35m under the harbour, providing a major infrastructure upgrade to better serve the local community and protect the important waterway from sewer overflows.
