HDD Crossing:
Water Crossing

As part of early works of the major 10km Pacific Motorway Upgrade, relocation of above and underground public services was required. Horizontal Directional Drilling was used to install four replacement pipelines – 2 x water, 1 x recycled water, 1 x sewer – under the environmentally sensitive Currumbin Creek. The four 250m HDD crossings installed HDPE pipes up to 800mm in diameter, with two crossings also requiring an internal carrier pipe inserted into the larger enveloper pipe.

Future-Proof Solutions was involved in this project from the early tender stage until completion of the final crossing. Our HDD specialists completed extensive trenchless engineering, including detailed trenchless designs, installation and integrity calculations, hydrofracture analyses, and drilling fluid plans. We were also pleased to provide onsite project support services, including drilling fluid testing and analysis, environmental sampling and EPA screening, HSEQ support, ITP facilitation, record keeping, and stakeholder liaison.
